And I'm willing to put up with the small bit of extra bookkeeping required to separate hit points from fatigue points and to have a more robust system for tracking such things.

Abstraction, for me, is the enemy of enjoyment.Jason Packerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02240705069654358715noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3719982689257640248.post-79411784838935801432013-02-10T05:46:53.441-08:002013-02-10T05:46:53.441-08:00@Sir Gawain

Much of how to play these games is contained in the culture surrounding them, not just the manuals. Which is why the online community of the OSR is so valuable. It allows players to learn about the second order principles of the game more easily.Necropraxishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12716340801054739658noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3719982689257640248.post-46287483871149136342013-02-10T05:46:00.424-08:002013-02-10T05:46:00.424-08:00This comment has been removed by the author.Necropraxishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12716340801054739658noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3719982689257640248.post-44418056063303608562013-02-10T05:43:52.960-08:002013-02-10T05:43:52.960-08:00I agree, though hit points do have some problems.

And they had been playing for years.
As it often happens, games from the past (like the first editions of D&D) are just considered crude and poorly made. But maybe we just have to read the rules more carefully!Filippo Bettoschihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06989196646189338490noreply@blogger.com
